Rue89, Revolutionized News

Recently in France, "classic" journalists from Liberation (newspaper), Laurent Mauriac, Pierre Haski and Pascal Riche decided to collaborate and create the website, Rue 89.
Each had previously their own seperate blogs and discovered a newly transformed way of sharing information, particularly the possibility of feedback from readers as well as from readers' readers.

At Rue 89, the website's goal is to carry content that's "reactive to reality," giving enthusiasts a chance to express their perspective and provide content from other sources. These revolutionized journalists not only write articles on the site, but also edit the content (videos, photos, text...) uploaded by their internet users (internautes), also translating French compositions to English. The anglophone branch, Street 89, covers an equal variety of topics as well as pieces originally written in English, from authors such as Grant Rosenburg who writes for the column 'Franco-American Street.'
For each article, readers can leave comments or 'reactions' and vote if they like the article or not. A true online democracy!

Special thanks to Pierre Haski.

Comments

Thanks for this nice, and accurate, presentation of our website. Just one additional detail: we have recently started an english-language page, called Street89 (http://www.rue89.com/street_89), where we both translate some articles from the french content, but also try to generate some original english content, such as the "franco-american street" of Paris-based US journalist Grant Rosenberg.
