Check out the three main players bringing all genres of art to the forefront. The fairs have different philosophies, but they all champion interesting art:

Art Elysée

Between October 22-26

Represented: 364 artists, 58 galleries

Showing off their goods "from the Petit Palais to the place de la Concorde", along the iconic Champs Elysées, Art Elysée has staged an art fair two years running and this third year will be no slouch. Art on loan from both well-established and up-and-coming  galleries will allow for all kinds of artistic discovery. There are names you'll definitely recognize in there: Arman, Louise Bourgeois, Alexander Calder, Jean-Loup Sieff, Edouard Vuillard, Man Ray, Niki de St-Phalle, David LaChapelle, and Jean Dubuffet are among the many that pop up in the list. (continued below)

SLICK

Between October 23rd-Oct 26th

Represented: 62 galleries

Serving as the outlet for the emerging art scene, SLICK openly welcomes the nouvelle garde of artists and galleries with the most gusto from the trio of art fairs. For it's fourth edition, it is widening it's scope to include not just video and photography but hosting conferences about gastronomy in art, and, interestingly, using recycled materials in the creation of art. Keep an eye on Le 104 and Point Ephémère as main points of reference.

FIAC

Between October 22nd-October 25th

Represented: 210 galleries, 4200 artists

FIAC (or Foire International d'Art Contemporain) is the motherlode of contemporary art fairs in Paris -- it's the French cousin of London's Frieze and New York's Armory Show. From the art invasion in the Grand Palais to the outdoor projects in the Tuileries gardens, it will be a heavy concentration of art with the most international representation amongst the three fairs.
