After 20 years working in film, television and advertising in New York City, Melissa came to Paris in 2004, intending to stay three months. However, shortly after her arrival, she developed an unfortunate addiction to warm Nutella crèpes. This dependency has made it impossible for her to return home. She spent the last 2 1/2 years managing the Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac and is now further pursuing her passion for promoting the arts by collaborating with IVY Paris. While not roaming the streets covered in chocolate goo, she also writes a blog called Guaranteed Personality.
WRITER - Adrian Sanders
Adrian Sanders is a member of Half Slant Studios based in NYC. He currently
lives in Paris, writing freelance about literature, hip-hop, comics, and
modern art. He most recently worked as a fire fighter for the U.S. Forest
Service utilizing his Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Literature and Political
Science from Bennington College to the fullest by chopping down trees and riding around in a fire engine.
Will is a poor english student living in Paris for the year in a vain attempt to improve his ability to understand the French language before he has to return to the University of Leeds in the UK and achieve a respectable mark in his French and Philosophy degree. He enjoys music and many other elements of popular culture such as film and this has led him to form plenty of stubborn opinions on these subjects which he used to rant on about in an unnecessarily loud voice to anyone who would listen. When he realised that actually no-one was listening to him he thought he would write them down on blog posts instead.
WRITER -Daniel Scheffler
Un nouveau Parisian. A worldly-beach-loving- hypocrisy- and-societal-norm fighter
comes from a fashion branding background (B Hon in Branding) all the
way due south from Cape Town. He now has come to build an empire in the
first world. Daniel writes about fashion
and fashion and fashion. He roams the city and the social scene with
needle point precision and has a jagged idea of what is and what isn't
happening.
WRITER - Joanna Walsh
Ba'daude (nf); a person given to idle observation of everything with wonder or astonishment; a credulous or gossipy idler. Joanna Walsh (Badaude) is a writer and illustrator. PHOTOGRAPHER- Simon Kirby
Simon is a 37 year old photojournalist based in Paris. Whether his assignments are for daily press, following police officers in L.A., French soldiers in Lebanon, magazines or private companies, he always documents his travels, air time, hotels and eateries. A portrait photographer at 19, Simon moved from North London to Paris, France at the age of 23. For 5 years escaped from journalism and into the real world in order to start, build and successfully sell an import-export company. Preferring the world of the unknown, the world of small salaries, the sleepless nights in mountainous hostile countries, Simon returned (naturally) to the world of the printed word in 2005. Spending around 25% of his time in Paris, and the rest all over the world gives an ideal opportunity to collate and share various travel experiences.
