Art openings this week April 20-29

Cafés’ terrace are full again, picnics have returned and even the waiters are a little more cheery - or at least less surly. Springtime in Paris is more than a season so, it seems only fitting that this week’s crop of gallery openings should reflect the brilliance of hue blossoming in the city’s gardens.
On Saturday, April 29, Galerie Hussenot presents assume vivid astro focus. Once known as the working name for the collaborative effort between Brazilian-born New York-based artist Eli Sudbrack, and French multimedia artist Christophe Hamaide-Pierson, assume vivid astro focus (all lowercase, s’il vous plaît) presently describes its members as “born anytime between the 20th and 21st century in various parts of the world, nomads.” And their work has often been as colorful as their persona. Working in a variety of media and performance, the collective like to think of their art as collaborations with the viewer. Images of their new exhibition at Galerie Hussenot have yet to be seen, but if it is anything like their past works, it promises to be an experience, indeed.
